Obituary for John Kowalski

John Kowalski
John R. Kowalski, 77, of Kenosha, passed away at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. Though he lived a healthy and active life, in mid-April, sudden life-threatening conditions left him bravely fighting until September 28, 2018.
Born in Gary, IN, on May 22, 1941, he was the son of the late John and Eleanor (Madama) Kowalski.
John was drafted into the US Army and proudly served in the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam, until his honorable discharge on November 11, 1965.
On November 28, 1964, he married Olga M. Allsopp in Highland, IN.
John was a truck driver for Kutzler Transportation for many years. Prior, he was employed at Bert and Rudy’s Mobil as a mechanic. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting, going bowling, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Survivors include his wife, Olga; two daughters, Jamie (Dennis) Blatnik and Amy (David) Prondzinski; four grandchildren, Joshua Cook, and Hannah, Olivia, and Sophia Prondzinski; a sister, Elaine Chinn; a brother, David Kowalski; and a sister-in-law, Debby Kowalski.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Grace Prondzinski; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Martha Allsopp; and a brother-in-law, Earl Chinn.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 2nd, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 8760-37th Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private with full military honors. Memorials to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Safe Harbor Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
